Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL
What happens if someone else needs to be buried at a later date?
It is very common that a couple will want to be buried or interred in the same place. When this is the case, we will lay out the lettering and design of your chosen memorial so that it leaves space for an additional inscription of a similar size. A book memorial or triple heart is a great way to achieve this.
When can a memorial be erected on a grave?
It is important to wait before installing your memorial to allow the ground time to settle after a burial. It is possible to erect a headstone on a grave 6 months after the burial has taken place but waiting for a period of 12 months is most common.
A headstone can be fixed 3-6 months after the interment of cremated remains as the ground requires less time for settling.
If you tell us which Cemetery/Church your memorial will be installed in then we can advise you of any specific rules
How long will it take?
We estimate that orders for our standard designs will take approximately 14 weeks to manufacture & install. This date will start once the permit has been received from the Cemetery/Church and your second instalment has been received.
If you are having a more unusual style or size of memorial it can take longer to obtain permission.
Of course, there are some factors which we have no control over, such as shipping or adverse weather affecting the installation. Naturally, any non-standard, bespoke memorials may incur extended manufacturing and delivery times. Rest assured that we will keep you informed about the progress of your order.

ORDERING
How to place an order
Most clients place their orders over the phone or by email. You can contact us via our online Enquiry Form and a member of staff will get back to you. We are also happy to offer a home visit service which is completely free of charge. One of our experienced staff can visit you and will help you choose a design and decide upon an inscription, all in the comfort of your own home. They will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have and can also discuss the ordering process.
We will talk you through the procedure for applying and obtaining the necessary permits. Many Churchyards and Cemeteries have strict rules and regulations on the size or colour of a headstone or the materials they will allow and we will check for any restrictions before proceeding with an order.

How much is the church / cemetery fee?
The fees charged by a Cemetery, Church or Crematorium are not a standard price and can vary across the country. If you tell us the location details of the grave, we will be able to confirm the fees for you. Alternatively, the Cemetery/Church would be able to give the information directly if you prefer to call them yourself.
Payment Terms
First Instalment: 50% Deposit plus the Cemetery/Church permission fees.
This is due when you place an order. We will apply for the permit from the Cemetery, Church or Crematorium. We’ll complete the necessary paperwork and obtain permission on your behalf. This is generally a straightforward process and ensures that the chosen memorial complies with their regulations. Obtaining a permit takes on average 2-3 weeks from receipt of your first instalment.
We will provide you with a proof of your design and your chosen inscription. Once you have approved the Proof the order is confirmed and our 12-16 week production lead time starts. We place the order for the stone and start the manufacturing and lettering processes.
If you have chosen a photo plaque we will request a good quality photo to be sent to us by email or by post.
If the item is a stock item the lead time may be 1-2 weeks shorter.
Second Instalment: 50% Balance is due upon completion
The remaining balance of 50% is payable upon completion, when your Memorial Stone has been fixed in the Cemetery, Churchyard or Crematorium. This balance may be plus or minus any charges due to changes a customer made to the original order – perhaps you decided to add a flower vase.
Some customers choose to pay the full amount at the outset, although this does not speed up the production process.
Installation Date
We are not able to guarantee fixing a memorial on or by a specific date due to the many variables that are beyond our control – any order placed with us will be on your acceptance of this. However, we always endeavour to meet a stated deadline.
If there is a specific deadline that you would like us to consider, perhaps a birthday or the first anniversary of the date of death/burial, please let us know right at the very outset.
We will discuss the possibility of achieving this – and will advise you of the potential issues that can arise and cause a delay.
Guarantee
All memorial fixings are guaranteed for 10 years and a certificate will be issued to you upon completion of the work.
